Most US born American Muslims are African American and, like most Blacks, they are Democrats. Most immigrant Muslims are Arab or South Asian - many of those folks are small business owners or self employed professionals and consequently they are Republicans. Many working class immigrant Muslims are Democrats.

could be either, I can some being attracted to the right wing because of religious conservatism and some being attracted to the left because of perceived oppression of Muslims by the right
