The United States Racquet Stringers Association recommends re-stringing a racquet a MINIMUM of an many times you play in a week for a year. This means if you play 3 times a week you should change strings 3 times a year. Remember even if a string doesn't break it does lose it's resilency (ability to return to normal) after a number of hours of play or just time.

I heard that if you play 3 times a week, then you should re-string your racket 3 times a year. But I usually just re-string the racket when the string breaks ;)

Depending on how frequently you play, how hard you hit the ball, and how much spin you apply, I would recommend getting a re-string about every two months or so. Otherwise, look for a broken string or one that is shredding and get your racket re-strung.

Change it every year to a year and a half. Unlike pros, who can change their strings anytime, we have to change it at a longer rate of time.

depends on how much and how hard you play. If a casual player, then about every three years. If serious play can be as much as every four weeks
