Honesty.

Honest and TACTFUL.

Example: Simon Cowell: Should he lie and tell someone they can sing when they can't? No, but a simple: "I'm sorry, but you don't have the voice to make it." would do instead of: "Is this a joke? You are the WORST singer I have ever heard!"

Of course, some truths are better left unsaid. To keep your mouth shut when it won't help anything to say a hurtful truth is not a lie.

If a little girl asks you if she is pretty even tho' her face is disfigured, would you say No, you're ugly? Honesty is not always the best policy where people's feelings are involved unless it's really better for them to know.

this is a great question, because the answer is not one or the other in ever situation across the board.

when we wonder, we look for answers. finding the answer, allows us to move on and wonder no more. but this can be a loss of one of our greatest gifts, intelligence. to assign a right and wrong that blankets all posiblities, is easy, if your already tired of have to think about it, but except that it won't be best half the time.

look at yourself and know yourself. understand others as well as you can. give everyone good heart and be able to address different people and different situations, differently. then you can be the best a person can be no matter what you have thought that means to be.

the answer
be someone that is willing and working to be the best they can be, presently.

thank you

Truth is alway preferable...except when telling the truth only hurts someone. Never tell someone something if telling them cannot help anything and will only hurt them and make them feel bad.
That is just plain mean.
I told my neighbor that her hubby was cheating on her and that hurt her but it was necessary and helped the situation in the long run.
I didn't tell my friend that someone had said something very mean about her because that would have done nothing but hurt her feelings. Better left unsaid. I considered that respectful.

It depends on the situation. If somebody is full of their own self-importance, and is making life miserable for those around them, then I think it's alright to cut them down. On the other hand, If you say to someone "I know you can do this" even though they haven't got a hope in hell, it's still better to say it, because it shows that you are supportive. If they do fail, then they might learn, but you're in the clear. Telling lies with evil intent is never cool.
