It's the best way to speak and learn about people without having to see them face to face! You get great ideas you may have never though of on your own and you can give people advice that may be helpful to them. Plus, the jokes (intentional or not!) are hilarious! It can also be a mindless activity you do before bed to help get yourself settled or a way to help yourself put your problems in perspective. It's mostly harmless and you can pick who you speak to based on their questions/ideas rather than what they look like or how they're dressed. You can also state your opinions and not be too worried that you'll be chastised for them or that you will recognize someone on the street who said something bad to you and have an awkward moment! (No one really looks like their avatar!) All in all this is a great forum for anyone with an idea to share or in need of some assistance! Your wife should try it sometime! Totally addictive!

Hi There!

I love answers because its directly from the people. Answers you get here are human and not written down in a book :) also you get to hear from people halfway around the globe and learn how people are different and also shockingly the same :)
There are a few idiots on here, some think they rule the roost others are just outright offensive however for every nutter you get a thousand decent folks :)

Best Wishes

Whitner

It can be a bit addictive. However, it as helped me keep of the ciggies for over 5 weeks now which is good news. I also love being able to offer help or, my opinion on things. I have found it very funny at times - there are some very quick humoured people out there! I have asked a couple of questions too - it is great as you get such lovely responses very quickly. I tell everyone about it!

You display great Christian characteristics. I love spending time flicking through these questions with the exception of a few. Remaining anonymous provides us with confidence to answer with more honesty than we maybe would face to face. Belonging to a group, club or cyber community is a basic human need, I find reading the broad range of opinions very interesting but please don't spend more time on here than with your wife after all she is living and breathing right in front of you we are a bunch of made up names on a screen and it would be very uncomfortable cuddling up to computer at night!.

I feel exactly the same way. Something about knowing that people are "out there," and that you can be helpful gets quite addictive!

It's also a good feeling to know that you know more than you thought you did!

And if she tries it, she'll like it!

And let's face it, it's always a kick when you're selected "Best Answer!"

And you know what? That's what it's all about. Sharing your knowledge and life experiences to help someone else. I know there are people out there who might be using it for the wrong reasons, but the majority of us are not about that! People who don't network are missing out on life, or are just plain ole sticks stuck in the mud.

My wife is a miserable sod. If I try to talk to her or ask her a question she shows off and starts an argument. At least I can come to the computer and "talk".
