I've heard that the law changed, so now you have to be 18 to get your drivers license ( by the way I live in california)... some people have told me it's changed, and some people have told me that it hasn't... I was born in October of 1992, when can i get me driver's pemit and license?

Nice to see the rumor is still alive and well, even if it has been modified to 18 now instead of 21 as it was in my era.

No, CA has a graduated license system, with some restrictions on your driving as regards night driving and passengers which stays in effect until you are 18. Go to the web page, it's all there.

California has a tiered system where you start with a learner's permit, then get licenses with restrictions before you get a full Class C license.

You can get a provisional permit at 15 1/2.
