What were the role of women in the Islamic Empire during 700-1200? Empire in Baghdad (Iraq): The Abbasid Dynasty (750-1258)... The Crusades



1. The type of work that women were typically allowed to do.
2. The responsibilities women within the family.
3. Whether or not women were equal or unequal to men in this society.
4. The impact my they had during the time period. & What changes did it create in society? Was it good or bad, helpful or hurtful?

1.serving, taking care of children under six,sewing, singing and dancing if they were slaves or special dancers,
2. making children, take care of the house and the husband
3.not equal, they were often beaten up by husband or man could ask for divorce , also men were allowed up to 4 wives based on religion issues, and as many slaves as they could afford. Also some practices such as homosexual relationships were admitted. Also women were forced to wear a face cover up on the street. If you were over 20 you were considered old.At 30 you were grandparent.
4.More impact had the wives of the sultan or the mothers of the sultans.I can't tell you precisely.

which planet are we talking about suheel? what a romantic description!! women did not get an education until the 1900's, they stayed at home, bore children and cooked. they were not allowed to participate in the workforce. I don't mean this in a negative way, these were the expectations back then. there is nothing documented on them bearing any changes or contributing to the course of islamic history ( or at least nothing I've read)
