The worse you have to go, the worse the 'increasing urge vs. distance remaining to the toilet' phenomenon seems to be. Am i alone on this one? is this a question for a physician or a physicist? ...-dj

If you started at the toilet and walked AWAY from it, you'd find the farther you got from the toilet the worse you had to go.

It's psychological. When you know that you cannot possisbly relieve yourself, you have no choice than to hold in your pee by any means necessary (this is a lot more true for women than it is for men - cause we always have the stand against a wall option - women aren't so fortunate!).

But, when you are at your door, your brain knows that bladder relief is just a few steps away, the toilet is just a few feet behind that locked door. So your mind tells your bladder to get ready to release - even before you get the door unlocked.

I've had girls tell me they held it in for hours, but then wet themselves just as they were about to unlock the door and run to the bathroom.

I think it's due to conditioning. Ever since our parents toilet-trained us we have combined the image of 'toilet' with relieving ourselves, therefore if you see a toilet and you need to go then the urge is amplified, which results in 'toilet' = 'go go go!'

i had a similar situation yesterday...or ealier today...
i didnt feel sleepy until i saw what time it was on the clock, which was 2 am. it has to deal with the way your mind works.
toilet=urge to go
bed=sleep
picture=memories
there is so much more depending on where you are in life.
