I already went to the EA website and they were no help, and tech support didn't tell me anything other than they simply don't support it. What happens is that I can only play it for about an hour or two before it a) won't let me save, b) crashes on its own, and c) turns my Sims into white shapes....not in that order. So is it because of Windows 2000, my processor(AMD Duron 700MhZ), or my RAM (128 MB)?

I don't think you have the right requirements for the sims game.

My other computer struggles sometimes with 512mb of ram for the sims.

And from what you've said "white shapes", this happens when your video card isn't good enough.

I would say that your computer is meeting the bare basics to run the Sims - you may need to upgrade. Just a FYI - most software is not supporting Windows 2000 anymore, I have recently run into that problem at work.

It goes slow on my computer and I have windows xp with 793MB its because of all the details in the game make the computer program not respond and make it so the game crashes!
