There are worse things than being alone. The big one is being with the wrong person.

We all get lonely sometimes, but that is just human. I wish you well. If you concentrate on being a good friend to others, and helping others in some capacity, it alleviates 95% of it.

I am 52 and like yourself I enjoy my own space and quiet time, but I also enjoy getting out and doing things with friends. You are NOT too old to meet a Good man, but you certainly are not if you sit at home, thinking Negative thoughts about yourself. Go Shopping, get your hair done and your nails and get out in the World and make New friends. Getting Old does not mean we have to stop Living..

I feel the way you do sometimes but then I think about when I was married. Although he was ok I was not happy and cherished my moments alone. If I do start to feel lonely I think about that and it puts it in perspective. Also you might meet somebody and everything will change. 50 isn't old. Good luck.

I understand what you are going through. My mother-in-law is 52 and divorced. She was tired of being alone for the first couple of years of it but now truly enjoys just being able to enjoy her life. You are still young yet. Let yourself live a little and focus on what you do have, not what you don't.

I am 35 and for the first time in my adult life, I am facing being alone. It's scary, but I know that it will make me stronger and it won't be forever.

Be bold! Get out there. Someone will come along. I truly believe that there is someone for everyone. Yours may be just around the corner - you just don't know it yet... :)
