Only if you want to condemn him to a childhood of constantly having to defend himself when picked on by other children who will insist upon calling him "Julie."

And if you must insist upon naming him "Julius," at least give him a middle name that he can use when he gets tired of being called "Julie." "Carpenter" ain't it.

Is Carpenter a last name or a middle name. I kind of like it, but Julius makes me think of either Julius Ceaser or Orange Julius (you know, like the ones you get at the mall.)

I don't really care for the name Julius...but Carpenter is good for the middle name. I would go with either Joel Carpenter. Jonathan Carpenter, or even Julian Carpenter. But...if you like the name Julius Carpenter...then go with it. :)

Hmmm....well, the only "Juliuses" I know are old men. And Carpenter is more of a last name. Whatever happened to John, James, Richard, Joseph, William, and Robert? Granted, these are more common names, but I prefer to call them classic. Unless you want kids to nickname your son, "Julie", I think I'd forget Julius. If you're naming him after someone, why not just use the first initial? There are plenty of nice "J" names for a boy, and not necessarily John, James or Joseph. Jayden is one that's popular now. Jeffrey, Jordan, Jason, and Jeremy are other possible choices.

what about Julian Carter...Julius reminds me of a smoothie (orange julius) and carpenter is a job, not a name.

I don't really care for it, to be honest. Julius? I'm just afraid he'll get teased a lot. Kids can be so cruel about names.

To adults it may sound like a fine, sophisticated name for your child, however once he gets into grade school people may start calling him names like " Julie" or something that may offend him. I say it's a perfect name, IF you give him a middle name that is less offendable that he can go by when and if the taunting starts.
