So many people I talk to claim that chipotle is healthy because it is grilled, they use fresh ingredients, etc. But all I see is a burrito with a ton of calories and a high fat content. A typical chicken burrito (13" tortilla, rice, black beans, chicken, and red tomatillo [no extras] has 947 calories, 29 grams of fat (only 5 of which is saturated, which is pretty impressive), 120 g carbohydrates, and 52 g of protien (which I also like about it). Substituting the fajita vegetables for the meat doesnt really change much either.
So my question is, what is so "healthy" about Chipotle?

For those of you who dont know, I'm talking about Chipotle, a restaraunt, not a vegetable.

eda, MC Ren is right, try this link: http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=nutrition_calculator
All the nutritional information comes straight from the company itself.
There are ways to make your meal healthier. For starters, order the Burrito Bol instead of a burrito (eliminates the tortilla which is 330 calories, 9 grams of fat!!). Eliminate sour cream and cheese (another 230 calories and 19 grams of fat in an average burrito). There really is no healthy option to fill your bowl, however. All of their meat options are loaded in fat, probably from what they marinate it in. A Burrito Bol with rice, fajita vegetables (instead of meat), salsa, corn and lettuce is 470 calories and 16 grams of fat. Not exactly healthy, but pretty good compared to "healthy" options at other fast food restaurants.

I dont know where you got that information, but it doesnt seem that reliable. I could be wrong, but unless you're using the most fatty ingedients (i.e. beans, beef, guacamole, sour cream, etc.) it should not be that many calories. I get my burritos with chicken, the fajita vegetables instead of beans, some rice, and a tiny bit of salsa so it shouldn't be too bad. I heard that they use a TON of salt though so the sodium content is high making it less healthy.

I agree with some of the others. Chipotle is alot healthier than other fast food places. One thing that might also help is getting a burrito bowl without the tortilla. That will cut some carbs. Also laying off of the cheese, guacamole, and sour cream might help.

nicely, it actual won't evaluate to a salad, yet I doubt it would be something as undesirable as McDonald's. after all, i would not be apprehensive approximately ingesting at Chipotle, except you reside there or something...I propose, it incredibly is basically meat, beans, tortillas, etc. no longer something like synthetic meat with MSG. i individually like it too yet I many times finally end up ingesting some fourth of a tabasco bottle when I consume there so i'm getting ill...

The burrito is huge. Do you really need to eat the whole thing. HOw about cutting it in half, instead of eating the whole thing. Or... eat it in 3 portions during your day...just not all at once...anyway, that would probably be the most healthy.

It is not that healthy but compared to fast food like McDonalds and BK, they use fresh and wholesome ingredients.

I think its what do you consider healthy. Its healtier then other fast foods but not as healthy as you can eat. Steam vegtables and rice will do you good.
