I have met ONE that was. He was the best pet "dog" I think I've ever seen, with the exception of my own. His owner told me that about 1 in 20 wolves will show appreciation, that ONE in 20 will be a good pet if you work your butt off with it before it is 2 years old. It took the guy I know about 3 years of working with his red wolf. The reason he did is that it was shot in the leg by a farmer (a grain farmer, go figure), it was picked up and brought to a vet and this guy found out about it. He didn't want to see it put down and knew it would never survive in the wild again. Extreme circumstances, under ordinary ones I would say no. But it is however possible. If you really want to do this route, people breed wolf hybrids and there are rescue centers just for wolfs and hybrids. Be warned, they are becoming quickly known as the MOST aggressive breed, they require MUCH patiences and understanding, but when you have one and do it right, just such wonderful animals. A former super intendent of mine had one, about the smartest animal I've ever seen, and smarter than many human animals as well...

i think it would be ok if you live by yourself, and intend to do so for the entire life of the wolf. it may also depend on just how young the pup is. any older than 9 weeks and i would say a zoo should take it. ive lived in the country all my life and have had alot of wild animals as pets. alot of them had been injured one way or another. it could be possible though, that if raised just like a dog, it could be no more than just a dog, this would take alot of dedication and work. if you attempt, good luck!

No. Wild animals are never going to fully tame down. You might live with a wolf for years, and then suddenly he'd attack, because you unwittingly did something he didn't like - and he'd likely kill you.
Dogs have been domesticated through hundreds of generations. Wild wolves can't be pets.
Apart from that, it's illegal almost everywhere to keep wild animals as household pets.
(If you have indeed found a wolf cub, call animal control or the zoo.)

no, i had one when i was little it was hit by a truck as a pup and we got it somehow anyway you cant expect a wild animal not to live on its instincts. especially an untammed one duh!!!!! ours had to go to a wildlife recovery centre. if you want one for cruel reasons i hope the pack eats you!!!!!!ha ha why would you want a wild untammed wolf???? if your actaully think it needs help call local wildlife people they should relocate it or give it the attention it needs, not a home in your home they are wild and not will always be unpredictable. get a dog

Let me start with, In most states, it is illegal to keep a wolf, unless you have a license from the state to do so.
With that said, I had a coyote/husky mix.. she was a great pet.. she was found in the woods... BUT we never ever trusted her completely. A wild animal is JUST that .. wild.. they are not born nor breed to be in a captive enviornment.
Some people do sell wolf pup's.. these are normally breed with a domesticated dog to get better quality puppies.. and less agression..

A wolf will never be a good pet. It took many generations for wolves to become dogs, a wolf is a wild animal and for it's own sake as well as yours I suggest you give each other some space.

Thats a very bad idea, wild animals are born to be wild. Try takin' them out and who knows what may happen. The wolve might be nice and affectionate to you at first but sudden things can happen! It can lunge at you for no apparent reason, and cause you serious injury. This animal is wild best keep it that way.

It would be an awesome pet, but wild animals are unpredictable at best. I would recommend leaving it alone. It probably wouldn't even be legal to own one.
