The Screen Actors Guild - is the union that most actors belong to. The benefits from joining, is that they offer health insurance benefits, retirement benefits, etc. Since most actors go from job to job, they do not have the benefits that most Americans would by working at the same job for years. This is where SAG steps in and offers them these benefits. Hope this helps.

Screen Actors Guild. They'll help you, truly. The only thing that I hold against them is threatening an actors' strike in the late 1990s, that scared TV producers into creating fast, cheap, and commercially viable programs which later came to be known as "reality TV". Had SAG negotiated a lot earlier, we wouldn't have these crappy shows flooding our airwaves. But that's just my opinion. Maybe you groove on them, and that's okay....

Screen Actors Guild. It is a organization and union for actors. They can help you find agents, where acting jobs are, answer your questions (if you are a member), etc.
