True but McMahan also took the company & went public with it on the stock exchange crushing everyone else, he stole writers away from WCW, made a deal with ECW to give the then WWF a hardcore edge, AND used serious sexual explotation of the WWF/WWE Divas just to lure people into watching. That and the whole McMahan/Austin fued made the WWE what it is today with no signs of slowing down at all.

All you need to know in a nut shell is that Hulk Hogan made Vince and Steve Austin saved Vince. Vince had the idea to go national in the early 80s, but he wanted to take 3 crews on the road with him and put the territory's out of business. I've heard from several shoot interviews that the 3 leaders he originally wanted was Hogan, Flair and Kerry Von Erich. Of course, he got Hogan and Flair and Kerry later on. Hogan headlined the A team shows while the B and C team shows usually were headlined by Savage, Piper, Andre or Warrior. But without Hogan, WWF would not had been as succesful in the 80s. And without the rise of Steve Austin in the late 90s, WCW just may have put the WWF out of business.

Actually Vince IS NOT the owner of WWE. He is the majority shareholder and Chairman of WWE. WWE is a publicly traded company, which means even you or I could be part-owners of WWE-all you have to do is buy stock. I do understand your point though. The only name on your list that could make your point is Hulk Hogan-maybe without him all pro wrestling wouldn't be as big as it got in the late '90s but without Vince where would Hulk have become as famous? The AWA? That is where he worked before WWF and it didn't happen there. World Class Championship Wrestling? Maybe, they were very good promoters for their time. Crockett or Graham's territories? I don't think so-they had to be dragged into the modern era and WWF is the company that forced them to. So who made the WWF/WWE happen? Vince McMahon Sr, Vince McMahon Jr and Hulk Hogan.

Agree. Using Hogan as champion for a number of years really got the WWE, then the WWF, going. His matches with Andre the Giant, Big John Studd, Brutus Beefcake, Greg the Hammer Valentine, the Iron Sheik, and several other former greats were legendary.

I respectfully disagree with all of you. The wwe has grown to be a world wide company. I dont think any one man deserves the credit for it being what its is. I think you have to give vince credit for being they mastermind behind the whole thing. You have to give credit to every athlete that has stepped in the wring to put there bodies on the line for you and me to be entertained. You have to give credit to your selfs. Without you guys and me the fans there would be no wwe. So many people critisize wrestling but there must be even more people who love it or it would not still be around. I dont think anyone person deserves it. How about some credit to the story writters who make all this stuff up. How about give credit to the not so icon type of guys that like jeff hardy and shawn michaels and mcfoley who dive off cages and ladders and give some credit to poor guys like joey mercury who really did get hurt from the ladder match when jeff hardy flew off the top rope causing a ladder to smack mercury in the bridge of his nose. Blood spewed every where it was real blood not the fake stuff. He had to be rushed to a hospital. We all see those matches where they bleed. They really do bleed its not fake (most of the time.) But what happend to mercury was as real as it gets. I think a lot of people deserve credit. Not just one guy. use another business for example. How about pepsi cola. Who deserves credit they guys who made the pop or the guys who mad the can or the bottle or the driver that takes it to the store or the people who drink it. Its a team thing guys they all deserve credit.
This is just my opinion what do you guys think
Michael

Yeah, I agree but without vince steering the wagon it wouldn't have been da same. Da legends were da horses that made da wagon run but vince was da mastermind steering 'em in da right direction. Hulk Hogan was'nt really hulkamania until he hooked up wit vince & da macho man was a minor league catcher before his wrestling career took off in da wwe.

For ECW, Christian has made an effect and actually boosted the full coach. he's not my customary yet he provides an oz.. extra entertainment that anybody else on that roster. For uncooked, i might say John Cena has made the biggest effect. he's are available in and adjusted a lot rules. he's made WWE PG rather lots. Or helped it besides, it rather is a large effect whether you like the PG subject or whether ya hate it. On Smackdown i might say Undertaker has made the biggest effect to this style rather. he's given lots to WWE, yet he rather boosted this style. Made an effect, huge effect. even nonetheless, basic i'm gona say HBK has made the biggest effect to the full of WWE. he's bought seriousness to the interest, he's bought humour and he's bought thoughts. The effect he's made is he's grew to become some followers into seeing the brighter image and thinking extra outdoors the container. HBK is the ideal place style via fact he does employer and he gets the job finished in ring yet he's a place style in existence itself. that is perplexing to describe what i'm getting at yet HBK has made an effect from day a million. If he doesn;t count huge style as present day then i will say John Cena. x

First of all; it is all scripted so they were all going by a script. Hulk Hogan has always been overrated. The other names you listed were better talent than Hogan.
