why does sims work without cd?

i downloaded it from lime wire and it looks just like all the files you would see if you explored the cd. only i don't install it and it plays and saves perfectly,plus i can add my own music to the radio.help

its not like you can buy the game anymore because they wouldnt sell a copy. so you have a right to have yours which has been modifyied
