I had always wondered that until I heard a quote. Someone (I forget who) says, "Why do we die? To give life meaning."
Also, if you have a religion, generally, they can tell you why you die. Christians like me say we die so we can go to heaven, because God is ready for us to come home.
But if you have no religion, I guess... we die to give life meaning.

There is no evolutionary benefit for humans to have an eternal life. It would be possible that our cells would not deteriorate with age, but that hasn't given us any benefit to passing on our genes. The way we have been doing it for the past few hundred thousand years has worked just fine.

This is because there is not enough space for all of us we need to give other people theirs and the world gets recycled and that is why the dinos became extinct because there isn't enough space.Plus thats why animals reproduce cause their 'child' will be like their replacement.

Something in the human body that repairs cells after they degrade stops working when we reach a certain age, so cells just keep on degrading gradual until our bodies give up... that's my understanding of it anyway.
