u need to configure the group policy editor. this can be done with windows xp pro.
go to start menu, the select run
type "gpedit.msc" then enter
broswe this folder
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options
then look for
Interactive logon: Do not display last user name
double click it, then enable it
restart your computer , it will work

That's in the local security policy.
Go to Control Panel then select Administrative Options. From there, select Local Security Policy.
Open the Security Options under the Local Policy and scroll down to the Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name. Enable it to turn on that feature.
