It seems to me that women will suffer YEARS of abuse from some butthole and when asked why they put up with it for so long, they always say the same thing? Because I love him! WHY???

They do not love themselves otherwise they would not put up with the abuse they are given. They were put down and told for years that they are not worth anything they tend to start to believe it. I think if a man ever tried hitting me he would regret it for the rest of his life because I would get the heaviest iron cast skillet and hit him over the head with it.

I think that it might be good to think of what happens to women in an abusive relationship. The abuser (butthole) controls every aspect of their lives. He insists that he wants to protect her and keep her out of harms way, and to many women, this feels like love. It feels good to have someone exhibit caring. It doesn't start out as beating and belittling. After a while the control extends to personal habits, going places, whether or not she can have a job. The abuser has no self-esteem, so he works to keep her from anyone who could expose him for the fraud he knows that he is. He is scared that she will wake up and say what a LOSER! So he tries to keep her thinking that he is great and that SHE is NOTHING. After a while, she thinks, he loves me so much, how could he be trying to do something bad to me. It must be me. This continues and there is a cycle. He is ok, then he gets mad, he does something bad (yell, hit, etc.) then he apologizes and does something nice for her. Then things are good, until he does something bad, etc. It is realy hard for a women who has been controlled to have any say in her life, to have any resources to do anything about it, and to feel that she is worthy of anything better. She believes that he loves her and so she also believes that she loves him.

They are very insecure and do not love themselves. Otherwise, how could you love someone who treats you like dirt?
