In the 80's, MTV used to actually play what is known as "music videos". Todays youth have no idea what that is.

I hated the 80's. We went from Led Zeppelin to that rubble so called music that opened the doors for what is out there now. Fashion was at it's worst and morals were completely gone. Not to mention the economy was in the loo.

I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy the 80s. Before AIDS, before the war on drugs, before DUIs, we were the warriors that set the standards and rules for future generations. Great music, funky clothes, we all love to dance dance dance. We didn't pick fights all of the time. We were the fun bunch, the breakfast club. Anyone who puts it down wasn't there. And on top of it, I lived on the east coast of Central Florida. What a life it was.

MTV, when it was all about the music videos and NOT about the advertising. I'd sit and watch music video after video for HOURS, dancing in my living room and thinking how great some of the videos were, like Toni Basil's "Mickey" and Thomas Dolby's "She Blinded Me with Science"...and nearly anything by Devo or David Bowie. I also had a crush on Martha Quinn....she represented the nice, petite, cute girls I always had a fondness for.

Today's it's all "reality TV" and stupid half-brained glitz. Sigh.

I hated the eighties...the only good thing about that decade was that I graduated in 1984! It had terrible fashion, terrible music and it just plain sucked! Now the 70's.....that was a great decade!
