$2500??? Go to a muffler shop and see what they charge to replace the cats. You can pick up a cat for a couple of hundred bucks online. Take it to a muffler shop and have them install it if you can't. It'll come in alot under 2500. The dealer always tries to screws you.

Note: Before you do anything, you need to make sure that there is nothing else wrong that is making the cat go bad. It is possible that the bad mass air sensor was causing the car to run rich due to a bad reading or the computer running in limp mode, thus causing it to go bad. But getting it checked out by a trustworthy non-dealer mechanic might be a good idea.

For the rear convertor, get a universal for $50-$100 and see if that clears, if not, then the front one you may buy new from the dealer or you can buy exhaust manifold w/one still on and replace

Catalytic converters can cost more than the car is worth. Oftentimes your check engine light comes on when there is no problem, have had it happen a few times.
