Do you believe in quotes?
Such as...
There are no small parts, only small actors..
or maybe
An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.
or maybe
What goes around comes around
or maybe
A true friend walks in when others walk out

Thanks

I don't BELIEVE in quotes, but I do consider most of them TRUE or INSPIRATIONAL, so I do enjoy seeing them. One time when I was in school our teacher asked us to write our own quote. Mine was "Why do you appreciate life now in the presence of death? " (I put a lot of thought into that, that must be why I remember it after 22 years =)

Quotes is not a religion, or a unified philosophy. They reflect different people's experiences. You can believe in some of them and not others, based on what you have seen in people and in life. And this can change over time.

Personally, I don't like quotes that are too cutesy or metaphorical, like "an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind." Because they sound nice, but are less likely to be based on real experiences. I like quotes like Carl Jung's, "We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses." It is more about meaning and less about how the quote sounds.

No I don't beleive in quotes, but I believe that most of the popular and accepted quotes do reflect the gist of the life experience.

It depends on the quote. I agree with the quotes: "Complaining is good for you as long as you're not complaining to the person you're complaining about."

"It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop."

But I disagree with the quote: "“Men are superior to women, for one thing they can urinate from a speeding car”

I believed in biblical quotes which are inspired by the Holy Spirit, but the quotes of famous people like Aristotle and others, i do not believe them. why?

Mar 7:7 But in vain do they worship me, Teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men.
Mar 7:8 Ye leave the commandment of God, and hold fast the tradition of men.

because it is only the thoughts of men, it is very dangerous to our faith if you believe in such things.Believe in the words of God not on the words of men.

Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.

because every man a liar, Aristotle is not excluded on that even I.

I believe most quotes have some truth to them. My favorite being...."Of all sad words of tongue or pen the saddest are these. It might have been."
