I can understand rejection of Christianity as they claim it was the slave religion but it was the Muslims who sold them into slavery and their fellow country men that sold them. Islam still pratices slavery. So if the scares of slavery is so deep why embrass a religion that is still practicing it.
Any thoughts?

Well, first off, not all blacks want to convert to Islam; it's a matter of individual preference. Also, it's my opinion that just about every religion has elements of slavery intrinsic to its very nature of being. (Come on, they use the fear of death to make a profit...) But the real reason many races and nationalities embrace Islam is that it's the antithesis of Christianity, its natural enemy. Look at the Crusades; many of them were instigated by church leaders who wanted more than they had, so to speak. And these days, since Islamics are going through similar situations (corporate rape of their countries, etc.), many join as an act of solidarity.

It amazes me to people will harken back to the Cursades when it was land grap by Muslims preventing Christians to get to their Holy Land.
