"Having your cherry popped" means getting your first virginal intercourse.
It's called "pop the cherry" because of the bleeding from breaking the hymen at the virginal opening. Some women, like myself, are not borned with hymen or have broken the hymen in other physcial activities. So there's no bleeding for the first intercourse.
For most cases, with or without bleeding, popping cherry means first penis-virgina intercourse for women.

But the hymen is not an indicator of virginity because some virgins don't bleed their first times. Most girls aren't born with a hymen or it wore away naturally through everyday activities like sports, riding a bike, climbing a tree, using tampons, etc. So, it just means having sex for the first time.

well when a man puts his penis inside your vagina,he pushes and tears your hymen and it tears,then it bleeds,and thats how come they call it popping the cherry.

when you have sex, for the first time, the penis breaks your hymen. it may not even happen the first time, but maybe a few times into it'll happen. when the hymen breaks, you bleed. some girls say it hurts a lot, but some say they feel little or no pain.

it is when you loose your virginity.....you bleed a little....in some countries it is customary for the husband and new wife to have sex on a white sheet.....if she does not bleed....then she is not a virgin...and the marriage is over.
