Interphase: when a cell is at rest (basically nothing happens)
Prphase: the chromosomes are aligned at the equater of the nucleus.
Metaphase: spindle fibers break apart the chrosomes at opposite ends of the nucleus(at this stage the chromosomes are now called chromatids).
Anaphase: the nucleus is formed around the chromosomes.
Telophase: (also called cytokenisis) the cell divides and organelles are formed.
