It's perfectly normal to lose weight at the beginning of pregnancy. I did with all 4 of my pregnancies and actually only gained weight during one of them. I am now at the end of my 4th pregnancy and I seriously haven't gained 1 pound. The Dr isn't worried at all. I'm a "plus size" woman so I guess the baby has enough to feed off of lol. Just make sure you're eating properly and getting enough fluids and all should be fine.

it is normal. i lost weight when i was pregnant. weighed 120 at 5'6''.... and ended up only gaining about 10 to 15 lbs with twins... as long as your doctor isn't concerned then i wouldn't be. the nausea will cause you to loose weight sometimes, especially early on in pregnancy. i couldn't keep anything down and so ultimitely lost weight. what kind of sharp pains? where are they at?? normally that is nothing to be worried about (i had those as well) but you should bring it up to your doctor since you are early on in your pregnancy, and want to avoid miscarriage.
good luck and congrats!! hope that the nausea gets better!! normally will go away after the first trimester (unless you're like me and have it all 9 months... lol)

Hi there! My 3rd son is 2weeks old. I always lose weight during the 1st trimester and have twinges all the way thru so don`t worry. Obviously be aware of weight loss which is out of the ordinary or very pronounced and accompanied by weakness and dizzines or other symptoms. Also any twinges which are accompanied by bleeding or which are very strong and debilitating should be checked out..
Good luck!!
