I'm not having any children for a few more years, but my fiance and i were talking about what we'd like to name our children when we have them. for boys we like Arden Bryant for the first son (Bryant is my fiance's first name, so we're using it as the middle name for our first son, and doing the same with my name for the daughter) and then we like a bunch of name, but can't put them together with middle names... like Naoise (irish legend Naoise and Arden were brothers...we'd use this for a first name if we had twins) Tristram, Willow, Liam and he likes Percival (ack!!!!) and gawain...
for girls we like Maeve(amanda), Muirrin, Arienh, Alannah, Marian, Rowena, Mairead, Gwenerynn..
how should we arrange these?!!!! and are there any other names that would go well with them? thanks!

I don't think any son in my family would be playing football...no offense to whoever mentioned that. and i don't like percival, my fiance does...it remins me to much of Percy Weasely, and that'd be weird!!!
btw, the last name is munson.

well geez kmennie, have bad PMS do you? yes i am sure this is a fiance, and no i'm not 14, i'm 20 thank you very much. and no offense but i've probably read more books than most people you know. and i'd rather give my children unique names than a "normal" one. trust me, having 5 other kids in your class with the same name is not much fun. and even with normal names (mine is amanda) you still get picked on.
sorry (not really) that we actually are proud to show our celtic ancestry, and our love of myths and legends which we intend to pass on to our children.

The names you have chosen for boys, with the exception of Bryant, are too feminine sounding for my taste. And though they are rather "literary", they could also be "sissified". I can't imagine boys with any of these names, especially Tristram and Willow. By the way, I love the name Willow for a girl! Liam might not be too bad, and if I had to choose among these names, Liam would be my first choice, although I can't say it's a favorite. But would you want a grown football-player son with a name like "Tristram or Percival"?? I don't think so.
As for the girls' names, I like Willow, In fact, I have a girl doll named Willow:) The girls names all sound Irish, and I have nothing against ethnic-sounding names, but I prefer Marian, Rowena and Alannah. Marian and Alannah could sound like Hebrew names. Marian is a derivative of "Miriam". To pair names, you don't want to use two, multiple-syllable names. It sounds too much like a mouthful. I don't know what your name is, but maybe you could pair yours with one of the other girls' names. Maeve is an interesting name. I kinda like that one, too. You do have some interesting choices, but the best way to choose a baby's name is to wait until the baby is born, and then look closely at him or her. Who does he or she remind you of? Then the names should magically "come" to you. Good luck!

I love the names Maeve and Naoise. Won't you be using your name as the middle name for your girl?
Also pretty are, Alannah, Rowena, Mairead, Aisling, Niamh, Ciara, Grainne.
Arden is okayish, reminds me of make-up, lol.
Barry Bryant sounds nice together. Other cute boys names are Finn, Rory, Dermot, Seamus, Brendan, Lorcan, Kevin and Killian.
Happy choosing, when the time comes.

Re. "irish legend..."
"I don't think any son in my family would be playing football..."
Okay, okay. You sound a little bit like me when I was 14. Are you sure this is a 'fiancé' and not a boyfriend?
If you like those sorts of names, look for the ones that wouldn't sound _ridiculous_ when given to a contemporary Western child (or adult). Liam. Marian. That sort of thing.
Giving a child a pretentiously unique name is not something kind parents do. Especially if it's hard to spell, hard to pronounce, and has a 'it's supposed to show off the fact that my parents have read at least one book' ring to it.
Might I suggest getting some pets when you get married? You can foist off dreck like "Mairead" and "Naoise" on puppies and kittens to your hearts' content.
In the meantime, peruse this site:

At least one of your picks is already on there...

You're kidding, right? Please tell me that you're kidding!
The ONLY two names you've come up with that won't result in the kid getting teased are Bryant for the boy and Willow for the girl...all of the rest are, well, just plain awful!
I mean, c'mon....Gawain? Percival? MAEVE? Oh, please!

willow marian is fine but a lot of those names are ugly and complicated. giving kids complicated names is the worst thing you can do to them. take it from someone who knows.
