individual preference, as you can see by the answers on here,

i have an ibanez, gibson LP and a strat.. i like them all.

In acoustic guitars....it's Martin...hands down. In electric guitars....to me it's a tie between Cavin, Fender, and Gibson.

I just answered a long one about Ibanez, so read it there. I also use Carvin, because you specify the elements to go into your model (check out carvin.com) but I replace the pickups with various DiMarzio models. I do the same with my Ibane guitars, DiMarzio pickups are just... more musical than any other.

Fender... You have to stick with the best brand there has ever been. Thats for electric, for acoustic, I'd have to say the Ovation's.

I prefer "Gibson".

I've been playing for sometimes now. Between 1970-to now.
And they've been around for quite a few years.

Fender's the classic, my roommate has an Ibanez and loves it though.

les paul is the best then you got your fenders but it also depends on what style you want to play
