I personally do not think it is alright. However, this is a decision that everyone must make by themselves. Do not listen to me or anyone else on this site that tells you what to do. If you are asking this question, then you must already be having a personal struggle deciding what is right. If you are a Christian and believe in the King James version of the Holy Bible, then yes it is a sin. If you believe in the Bible then read these passages:
"You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination." (Lev 18:22)
"If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them". (Lev 20: 13)
There is no where in the Holy Bible that says that homosexuality is accepted by God and the people that tells you he is "okay" with it, have obviously never read the Bible.

Oh dear, two people said "no" (as of the time that I type my response) and I hope that you don't choose either person as the best answerer because a) they gave shitty answers not backed by any logic and b) it's so cliche seeing how you got best answerer just a few days ago because of the same method.
It doesn't matter if it's alright through other peoples eyes... it's who I am and I don't care if others believe it to be right or wrong because I think it's right... right for me!

its alright to be gay if you feel good;the idea is to stay in closet and only come out with loyal friends that are gay;there is a group that called themselves;seventh day adventist kinship;look for them on the internet;they have web sites all around them world and getting bigger;hope this helps;i myself would like to meet you someday; play by ear.

Yes. I am straight and I see it as perfectly acceptable. There is nothing wrong with it whatsoever. I think gay marriage will benefit society, as it would raise acceptance of homosexuals as normal people. I see nothing wrong with it, and I think that God views it as alright. Otherwise, he would not have created it.

Yes, of course it is. Its just as ok to be gay as it is to have blue eyes or red hair or to be tall or black or irish or left handed. Its just another difference between you and everyone else, and its definitely not anything to be ashamed of.
