First of all I want to thank all you gals who answered my Pre-hysterectomy questions a few weeks earlier and shared your stories with me!! I need you to share again....

It is now week 2 post-op. Had the full open surgery and am healing fine. I took my own staples out (the day before the doc was going to remove them) for they were driving me nuts, poking me from different angles. Went to the checkup a week after and my doc was surprised I hadn't had any hotflashes yet . I have had no hot flashes but have been warm on a few occasions but nothing like the horror stories of sweating I have been told.

I feel tired way to much in my opinion and yet do not sleep well at night. Is this normal ? Will this be life from now on ?

I am sore, achy, headachy & pale and wondering how long this is suppose to go on. The doc. says, of course, 6 weeks is recovery. I just want you gals to share with me your post experience now to sort of calm my anxieties of what is going on.

Yes! you are going to be tired, and pale, along with being achy, and headaches, and ETC.You just had MAJOR surgery. If this does not clear up in about Six Months you may think of Depression. Talk with your doctor/nurse this is the best advice your doctor knows your medical history. You may have Diabetes or Thyroid Diease after surgery. I do know lower back pain is usually normal while standing and or sitting I had this for six months, and it did go away. Please do not run because the bladder may slip down, and you may have to have surgery again. Take it easy I say for at least ONE FULL YEAR!!!

Please be careful lifting things, running, and watch for bone loss. You may want a calcium and a vitamin plus minerals since you have had your surgery. You may want to eat healthy foods such as yougart for some calcium. You may start having Bladder/UTI Infections since you had this kind of surgery. Cranberry tablets from your local health food store taken on a daily basis may help with this. Ask you DOCTOR about advice first for taking anything.

All surgical procedures take a rapid at an analogous time as to recover from. that's rather helpful to attempt to get somebody that can assist you with the little ones for a minimum of each week. Any bending and lifting is going to be problematical on the start. issues including laundry, and cleansing bath tubs, lifting little ones would be slightly painful. on the plus area, you will no longer could desire to purchase tampons anymore.
