It was probably written in the middle to late 60's. It was about a bear and a mouse, who lamented on how different they were. One liked to ride his bike fast, the other slow. One liked loud music, the other soft etc... This went on until they discovered they both loved to eat Ice cream. Then the decided to get together every afternoon, to eat ice cream together. The drawings were done in muted shades, of mostly brown and green. Do you know the name of this book, and where I could purchase it? I would love to be able to share this story with my 2 small nephews, Kyle and Logan.

I believe it was called How Joe the Bear And Sam The Mouse Got Together by Beatrice Schenk De Regniers. Most likely you could find it on Amazon.

Children's books, if they don't make major bucks, generally tend to fade away. I would suggest that you rewrite it yourself for the kids from your own memory and using your imagination if noone can give you the answer - how hard can it be?
