One of my best friends for twenty years turned out to be not such a great friend after she got married and had a child. She now completely ignores anyone who has entered her life prior to this new hubby...even her family! It's so sad to watch! Anyone have a similar story they care to share?

By ignore, i mean she doesn't really answer anyone's calls, doesn't write, doesn't even send a thank-you note promptly after she has received birthday gifts or wedding gifts. I'm afraid that she is going to wake up one day, and realize everyone has truly moved on from her.

I am so sorry that has happened to you, I have a best friend we known each other since i was 13 and her 15 i am now 21 and her 23 she has a child and married for 5 yrs i was maid of honor, a little has changed simply because i moved 2 hrs away but we call each other as much as we can and see ea other as much as we can you just have to keep working at that relationship, i hate that your friend did that to you, you have my sympathies i pray God sends you someone else your deserve better than that. Maybe you should confront them, 20 yrs is a lot to throw down the drain.

The reason that she is like that, might have a lot to do with who she is married to. Some men demand all the time and attention from their wife and feel that it's not possible for a woman to share their time with someone else. So the woman feels as if she has no chose but to ignore her other friends. She will eventually find herself really needing her friends and the best thing that you can do as a friend is be there when she needs you...
