Do you think that the "thumbs up/thumbs down" thing is pointless?

I like it because the asker can thumbs down an answer and skip over it when it comes time to select a best answer.

I think it also have somewhat a little sense because . .
if you give one person a thumbs up, that person would have an additional point.

there are a lot of askers who fail to go back and award Best Answers so people gives others the downer thinking the most up wins. What thaey fail to relize is: if no best answer, the highest number of votes wins.

I use it. There is very little feedback otherwise except best answer and posting a comment. With no feedback half the reason for sharing is gone.

i see it used alot,,,,,,, i think it serves a purpose, if someone gives a really nasty or crazy answer,, and gets 10 thumbs down,,,,,, that gives the questioner a hint not to pay attention to it,,,,,

Not at all... I like using it because it tells the asker if it was liked. Some abuse it and thumb down when it's not needed...

yes... all ur doing is excersizing ur thumbs and then peopel think that up means good and down means bad. its like w/e gay wade just excersizing i didnt get my mornign exsersize..... thats really funny
