This will be a close fight between Dirk & Nash. . . As long as the Mavs play the way their playing right now up to end of regular season, then I believe that DIRK will get his very first MVP. I think he deserves it. He elevated his game this season. He may have a lower scoring percentage than last year but look at his stats on assists. . Whew! so much for a 7-footer huh! . . And he's really working on his defense now as shown in his blocks & steals per game. . . He's developed into an all around player!!!!

Players which have the best chance of becoming MVP are Dirk Nowitzki,Steve Nash,LeBron James and Gilbert Arenas.

Steve Nash. MVP= Most Valuable Player. Steve Nash is very valuable to his team, but the Mavericks are a good not great team without Dirk.

my guess is that Dirk is going to win it in a close one over Nash. both of them are having incredible seasons, but Dirk has really elevated his game again, and Nash has already won it twice, that's probably gonna count against him. and Arenas is having an outstanding season, and is really the only player (with some help from Jamison) who is keeping the wizards afloat. if the wizards were on the same level as the suns, or even close really, than Arenas would be a viable candidate, but they just don't have the overall depth and talent to compete, and that's what is going to sink Arenas.

It actually all depends on the next couple of weeks left in the season. Most likely it will be Kobe, Dirk, or Gilbert Arenas.

I would have to say Steve Nash...

1) Averages a double-double

2) Leads the league in assists

3) Let's face it...Suns suck without him...
