whats wrong with emo kids? not all of them cut themselves. so why does everyone hate them?

its not that they all cut themselves.
i personally dont like many of the younger kids today because, frankly, i think they are idiots.
American hardcore punk music from the 1980s was to put it im simple terms-- the absolute ****.
this was the disgruntled music of a disgruntled generation.
it focused on doing things for yourself, living by your own code and not buying into any of the cultural BS like a suburban house with a white picket fence.
we shunned the mundane and made our own fun, we stretched our minds, and fought to be ourselves ina world that didn't want to or couldn't understand.
and no it seems the point has been lost. ask any high school kid what the most influential bands to emo are. most likely all those bands have been famous since 2000.
emo kids have no sense of the history, blood and sweat that went into the crap they call music today.
i love punk, and i have enough respect for the culture to learn its roots. anyone ever heard of Dada? probably not if youre 17. lettrists internationale? nope.
un chien le andalou? proabaly not, but they were all punks of thier day. they stood for something..
what are these kids today standingfor? the right to have a shitty haircut you cant see out of? the right to wear big thick hideous white belts? the right to be completely stupid?
they know nothing, they stand for nothing, and they have no point but fashion.
that is why i hate emo kids.

I hate the whole thing. "Oh I hate the world, I hate conformist. That's why I'm emo." It's such a stupid thing to do since they are conforming themselves. As a group, emo kids just reject everything and this is their way of dealing with reality instead of actually getting to know themselves.

Let me tell you why people hate emo kids. It is very simple. People hate emo kids because of 2 very distinct reasons, the first being that they're failures. Yes failures, emo kids constantly fail at suicide littering their bodies w/ scars and abrasions making an eyesore for everyone around them. Secondly emo kids are wasteful, these kids waste perfectly good razor blades. Think of all the starving children in 3rd world countries who could be using these blades for more productive purposes such as murder to assist their ever so slowly growing cannibalistic communities. It depresses me to see all of these poor hated emo kids have to suffer through one failed suicide attempt after another. Where are these kids parents to show them way to proper suicide success? These kids should play drinking games w/ household cleaners, at least then they could be social w/ one another as they become extinct.

I think a lot of people think their weird, or just don't know how to react to them. Or they're just scared. I have an emo friend so yea I know what ure talkin bout.

cutting is weird, but that isn't my reason for hating the ones I know. It's because they are just regular people(generally suburban teens) with no real personality, so they follow a trend that makes them seem like they are actual people.

Many of them are posers. You can't escape them on myspace with their dark music and pictures. They try so hard to be different, that they all look the same.
But you're right, not all of them cut themselves.

I used to think of they have been cool till i found out how annoying they're. I basically think of they're annoying because of the fact they're hair is terrible and that they positioned on grotesque shirts and that they cry all day and say they don't choose interest lol yet seem at they're hair. There's this emo woman at my college who form of annoys me because of the fact she takes annoying photos of herself along with her tounge out and it's gross.

Because they make such a big deal about being supposedly 'deep' and 'original' when they are nothing but shallow and part of a mass movement.
