All of the above. Each contributed to cities growth. Industry produced jobs which drew people to cities for wages. Global trades bought new products for mass sales. Panics drew people to gather closer to each other for stabiblity. Trains and cars made easier access to places for people to be able to come and go as they please, to visit their families and work in the cities. Agriculture increase produced food which helped feed the multitudes in the cities without have plant their own. Immigrant waves brought with it more hands for production of products and caused greater needs which meant more more eventually.
