What does it mean to kiss off? and also, last laugh, laughs best

"Kiss off" is a "nice" way of telling someone to f-off.

"he who laughs last, laughs best" I can't put it into words, but Ive got a great example. When toilets (indoor plumbing) were first created, the people that bought them (and the person that made it) were laughed at. Everyone thought it was insane to have a toilet inside the house because outhouses smelled so bad. But now we laugh at people who have outhouses instead. They laughed first, but we laughed last and best-- because we were right.
