Ok, Check it out, when we moved into this house, there wuz a tiny little spider that looked like a daddy long leg spider, i told my mom that even though its not that dangerous, we shouldn't keep it in the house, she doesn't want to listen to me, so she wants to keep it as a pet......is this a good idea?......

They are not poisonous, and they can be beneficial. However, a pet when I think of one is like a bird, dog, or cat. The good thing about a Daddy long leg spider is they eat pesky little insects.

most "wild" spiders like daddy long legs, garden spiders, jumpers... don't make good pets and don't do well in a house because eventually they encounter pesticides and other things that are harmful. If she wants a pet like that go to a pet store and buy a tarantula. Some are low-maintenance pets that can be kept in an aquarium/terrarium and are pretty cool. If that's something you want to do, make SURE you read up on proper care and buy from a reputable shop.

I have three Daddy long legs in my house, Elmer, Suzie and Grace. Elmer lives in a corner of the ceiling and wall in my bedroom; Suzie lives in another corner and Grace lives on my bathroom ceiling. Elmer used to live above my stove but he moved. I tap on the wall and wave at them to say Hi. I don t regard them as pets, more as room-mates/neighbors. My pets have fur and four legs.

Let him free plus he will die in captivity if you keep him locked up in a little cage
If you let him rome free in your house he will probably more that likely mate and then you will have a problem lot and lots of little spiders
so i suggest letting him go in your shed or out in a tree so he can happily live his life

Well you should always listen to your mom. See I exactly don't agree with that but, hey everybody has different opinions of pets.

daddy long legs need grass to breed so unless you can provide it with a lawn you better let it go.

It needs it's space. Just let him roam the house and do his thing.
