Siddhartha by Herman Hesse? Penguin version verses original?

Question

I need to know if there is a difference between the Penguin version of Siddhartha verses the original. Which one is better? Are the basically the same? I think the original is translated by Sherab Chodzin Kohn.

I read the Penguin version about a million years ago, but I don't remember the translator. It a great book.
