If you are picking to start your operating system through your harddrive, and you are running into this error, it could mean that your operating system files have been corrupted, or perhaps a key file deleted. This is a troublesome problem, however if nothing else works, you can try to reboot from a previously working version of Windows. This is assuming you have Windows and not Unix or Mac. You should be able to press F8 on your computer and select the option to reload from a previously working version. Otherwise, you may need to completely reformat your harddrive and reload Windows. If neither of these options work, I ran into a problem like this where the motherboard had been electrically surged, from static. In this case, you would need a new motherboard, so let us hope that this is not the case. I hope my above suggestions where enough assistance to help you. Take care!

Hello. I'm not sure how much I can help, but I will try. I'm wondering if it's due to a virus, worm or trojand OR is it a simple matter of needing a new fan inside the tower. If you can get to an unaffected pc, I'd download Microsot's Malicious Tool Remover and see if it picks up anything. Assuming that comes back all clear, then it sounds like you just need a new fan so your system can keep cool. Just in case it does find something, I'd also get some AVG's latest antivirus program as well as Spyware Terminator. These are two real good free programs that'll help a lot. Good luck.

Hi,
Sounds really bad but this might help, switch your computer on and insert the Windows disk into your C.D drive, now switch OFF (leave the disk in), wait a minute and restart your P.C it should now boot from the disk and select the repair option. Hope this helps.

I need more specifics on your problem, but try starting your computer in safe mode by holding the F8 key as it's booting. From safe mode you can try system restore.

Could you give a more detailed description of what exactly the error is, and what options it's giving you?
