Human ID implant, a technique that have been in use for years on domesticated dogs and cats, is also heavily promoted as the SOLUTION to ID fraud, although some (myself included) believe this is simply an outright attempt towards society control and dehumanization. Oh, the FDA already has some approved versions. Please see:

When hell freezes over. My father and grandfather fought in World War I and II so that I could have freedom, my great-grandfather came to this country for the same reason, before him Americans Died to be free. After WWII my Uncles and Cousins fought in Korea and Nam to preserve those freedoms. My sister was in Desert Storm and my Bother in law just came back from Iraq. I would never make a mockery of their sacrifice my wearing an implant or for that matter carrying a national ID card.

Hell no! It would be too easy to turn it into a tracking device. The government doesn't need to know exactly where I am every single second of the day. I don't think the government should be in the business of marking people, but then, I'm a bit biased. I'll never forget that my grandmother always wore long sleeved blouses, no matter how hot it was, because she wanted to hide the ugly blue numbers tattooed onto her arm. Bad idea!

there have been concerns about how such technology could be abused and become a form of undisclosed surveillance, with movements and activities electronically monitored. Last week, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) urged lawmakers in Virginia not to put such trackable chips into drivers' licences - arguing that it would breach people's privacy. Such devices would allow the authorities "to sweep up the identities of everyone at a political meeting or protest march," says the ACLU.

Um, no. It's a little too X-files for me.
And it doesn't seem like a way to stop ID fraud b/c I could forge some papers and get someone else's implant in me or find a doctor who makes all kinds of extra money taking fake ones in and out of crooks.

*** no i would shoot anyone who trys to implant ID in me. But I think it is inevitable. First it will be marketed as a way to find lost dogs, then they will say it can be use to protect your children or find them when they are kidnapped, then they will sell it as a way to keep your medical records handy if you are ever hurt, then they will say it will help prevent terrorism with a national ID system. We will be in real trouble. Some people think ID implant is the mark of the beast!!!

Let's not rush into something that probably may never happen. Besides, we have already lost many rights and no one seems to care.

yes
edit: as long as there was, say, nothing electronic in it that would allow for tracking devices or whatever
