Well in this sense age is nothing but a number. People don't take you seriously because of your age but they take you seriously when you mature and act like you can handle being treated seriously.

I don't think there is a set age when you are taken seriously. It all depends on your own actions and responsibility level. The more mature and responsible you are, the more likely you are to be taken seriously.

Depends on your maturity level and whether or not you've behaved with respect. My eldest, who is 15 I don't trust her or take her seriously but then again she lies, steals, did drugs, almost died from alcoholic poisoning, plus more including a pregnancy scare last year. However, my 12 year old I do. But then again, personality-wise, they are like oil and water. One lies, one doesn't (or just doens't get caught). I'd say if you can show with words AND actions that you are trustworthy, you'll get it whether you are 12, 15, 20 or older.

It's hard to say how old in years. Maturity is the thing. People at 14 can be more mature at 18.

Well i'm 21 and I have all the tings any 30 year old has, but no one seems to take me seriously! I think they are jealous actually. It depends who you are and who is judging.

It all depends on how you carry yourself. I was 18, looked like I was 15 and wearing a suit to work everyday. I was a top producer in my company, and was highly respected by everyone. Don;t doubt yourself and don;t act immature, people will be able to tell you are something to respect. If anyone doesn;t respect that, it is most likely that they are jealous of the way you handle yourself.

not by age, by maturity levels...by building up trust, and showing people you are responsible they will start to see you as a mature person who can be trusted
