ive heard of snails, but wouldnt they be kind of small

i captured a toad and put it in, but he/ she left

No other types of fishes, that's for sure. Goldfish only get along with other goldfish. Koi/goldfish are only compatable with other koi/goldfish or freshwater plants. Anything listed above should be good, too.

Koi can grow very large; up to 3 feet, and goldfish in a pond setting, can grow to 18 inches, so you don't need to be crowding your pond with additional creatures. The koi or goldfish alone will be enough. Just remember not to overcrowd. Each koi needs to be allowed about 100 gallons of water minimum.

Newts .frogs (get some tadpoles they will be more likely to stay around when they mature)other fish are OK too ,we have a 2 tench and 2mirror carp and 4 ghost carp two silver and two gold but it would also depends how big your pond is ,ours is 6-1/2 meters x 4 snails are a good idea to they keep the water clean .
