Cartlidge Piercing? anyone know anything about them like infections, piercining them yourself, will it hurt?

I really want to get my cartlidge pierced and i don't know anything about getting it pierced. Me and my friend thought about doing it ourselfs, but we don't really know how to, also wondering if it will scar, how much it will cost?, how old do you have to be to get it done without at parent?, is it a bad idea do pierce it yourself?, will it hurt? , does it look nice on most people?, ect....................

Doing it yourself? Definately not. Parents aren't usually iffy about letting their kids get a cartilage piercing, so I would just ask them to take you.

Of course every kind of piercing you get will leave a scar if you take it out. Just a little hole where the ring goes through.

I would suggest going to this place called "claires." I dont know if you have that in your area but its a good place to go. Do not go to a tattoo/piercing parlor where they stab a huge needle through your ear. I would go with a place that uses a piercing gun. That way it is over just like that and you dont have to worry about them shoving the earring through later.

At Claire's it only costs between 20-50$. Depending on the style of earring you get. Basically you dont pay for the piercing, you just pay for the earring itself. Along with any Walmart and some Bealls/Stages.

Every single person I have asked said it didnt hurt. It didnt hurt me either. & I have had it pierced maybe 5-6 times. I would go back and do it again without question if my holes grew back in!

I think it looks good on most people. Just like a regular ear lobe earring. Just whatever you do, dont do it yourself. Because then it will hurt like hell.

Don't do it yourself. Very bad idea. You can't sterilize things properly without an autoclave, and as you said in your question, you don't know how to do it.

Go to a pro, prices are usually around $40. If you're under 16 you may need a parent to sign for it, but this varies by where you are.

And yes, they hurt, just like any other piercing. There is no way to tell if it will scar (if you take it out you will be left with a tiny scar but the chances of anyone noticing it are slim to none)

Better to let a professional do it. It will leave a hole. As to how much it will cost, that depends on the jewelry you get and where you go. You have to be 18 to get piercings without a parent. I pierced my own, it hurt a little, and go figure it out.

do it your self seriously you will love it when its done . sterrolise the needle with tcp i now that stuff stinks but it stops infection then get 2 ice cubes and place them at either side of your ear and then put something metal at the back of your ear to stop it stretching and then pUsh the needle through this will be hard as the skin is very tuff at the cartlidge but it wont be painful because you will have numbed it with ice make shure to check the size of the needle with the size of the ring use a needle which starts really thin at the point

but at the eye end make shure it is the same diamiter as the ring you must pull the eye of the needle through this sounds painfull but it isnt as the needle stedily stretches the hole SERIOUSLY IT WILL BE FINE DO IT DO IT !!!!

i got mine done at the mall. it didnt hurt that much at all. if you have your ears pierced already it feels like that. mine didnt scar at all. i went with a parent when i was 11. i would get it if i were you. good luck.
