A bird like a condor needs a lot of space. The Californian condors are endangered and are needed in the wild. Unless there was a specific condor breeding program it would be irresponsible for any zoo to keep them.

On occasion, a bird in the wild is injured and will be nursed back to health in a zoo. If its injuries won't allow its return to the wild it will stay in the zoo or, more likely, be sent to a zoo with a breeding program.

I don't know, but I would presume that a zoo in California is conducting a breeding program. If it is, San Diego is the likely place. You should go there to see condors.

For the same reason there are no domestic cats or dogs, and no cow or coyotes or local politicians!

The condors in California live outside the zoo!
