How can you tell the difference between male and female molly's?

I'm going to get another tank and split up the 8 molly's I have right now and I would like to split them up pretty evenly. Thank you so much for your help!

You can tell mollys apart the same way you tell for guppies or platys or most any other livebearer and that's by the anal fin. Females have a fan shaped or normal looking anal fin. That's fin under the bottom of the fish Here's a picture of a female:

Males have a pointed tube shaped anal fin. Here' s a picture of a male:

nicely, the least complicated thank you to help you be attentive to is mollies have 3 fins close to their butt hollow. The adult males anal fin is skinny and pointy mutually as the girls people fin is fanned and rounder. additionally women people tend to be rounder than adult males, yet no longer in all circumstances. My black woman molly is an identical length as my white male. in many circumstances they say the female is rounder is as a results of the fact they're already pregnant.

Females are usually larger and the males have a " pointer " under them that the females don't. It's like an extra fin that points toward the back end of the fish. On adults you can clearly see the difference.

The males bottom fin is modified to be a long tube that lays against the belly. The female has a normal fan-shaped fin.

I heard that the girls are more straight when they swim, the boy's tails sort of go down.
