Click on tools, Internet options, Content tab, Click on clear forms. This will get rid of the search history in google. To clear the rest of your history, go back to the general tab and click on delete history, delete cookies and delete files (also delete offline content). Hope that works.

Naughty naughty!
Google doesn't keep search histories ( ALthough they do share it with Govt. Agencies, along with your IP)
What you want to get rid of is called form autocomplete/ history
Tools>Internet options> Content> Autocomplete.
Here, unclick all selection boxes, Click all the buttons to clear all password and form history. Click Ok all the way out.
This is for IE, For mozilla use the option that says, clear all my private data when I exit firefox.
Better get ccleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com
It'll clear all your history securely, that is wipe it, you know. over write it with random charavters so deleted files can't be recovered by any software.
NOTE- Deleting history, and cookies and files is not enuf, you have to delete the autocomplete history aswell.
History, cookies are easy to delete, from tools>internet options

If you are running IE go to tools\Internet options and delete history/cookies. If you have the google toolbar you can click on the search bar and it will give you the option to delete that

For me I start typing a letter or two and then a past entry I typed in shows up and then I just delete them all. I don't know exactly what you mean but yeah.
