I am not sure that there are any economic benefits to legalizing or banning gay marriage.

Hell yes it would. I write marriage licenses for a living. The amount written per year has been declining every year for the past 10 years. If gay marriage where legalized here, business would boom and we would have record highs for 10 years.

Honestly, does anyone really care if two people of the same gender have a marriage ceremony and get a piece of paper that says they are married? What at all, if anything, does this have to do with anyone besides the two people it involves? I wish people would look at the real issues in our world and not worry about what other people do with their personal lives.
Oh, and yes, I think that would be a great business boom for your aunt. :)

Money isn't the issue. It is the votes from the Christian Right that are at stake, and as long as those votes are out there, Gay Marriage will never be legal.
Personally, I think it shouldn't matter who you sleep with. That is personal, and is no ones business. . .

Maybe for the bakery biz but it has tied up the court system here in Mass. Marriage is for Men and woman to raise the children THEY produce. Kids need a mommy AND a daddy

Isn't it better then the man hiding his "gay side" and marring a woman to get health benefits, and tax breaks , only to cheat behind her back with the guy next door?
Not gay but I think id rather a man marry a man then to marry my daughter and have a man on the side.

Our economy is pretty good at the moment, without gay marriage. One industry does not a better economy make. Are you saying that if gay marriage was proven to make the economy worse, we should have it? I really don't think it's about the economy.

i don't see that law passing anytime soon. as long as they put the property in each others name should be no problem. if they want a ceremony they can always have a ceremony that can tie them together some how. then your aunt will sell the hellll out of cakes.

I don't know if there would be any significant anything in the general economy .
That said gays won't be going away any time soon and despite the Christian dogma there isn't a "cure" for it either .
It would be nice if we could just accept them into the mainstream because that won't create more either -
