All they do is praise themselves...you don't see hundreds of different awards for "Best heart transplant" or "most outstanding cesarean"...those are the people who really deserve it. I've lost count of all the awards: Oscars, Baftas, Emmys, Grammys, Brits...I can't even tell the difference!

Of course my friend. Who gives a damn about how much celebs make or what "cool" movie they appeared in. I'm sick and tired of hearing about them every single minute I turn on the television and hearing them being praised for little to no achievements. So what a celeb is going to be considered a best actor or best in an all lame performance; we need to honor people who actually done something to help make this a better world for everyone.

I understand what you are saying, but not what you mean. Best Heart Transplants are very rewarding to those who get one, and those who donated.
Entertainment is universal, something we ALL can enjoy. And do on a pretty regulated schedule in every Country of the World, if you have a TV, iPod, Car Radio, CB, or Computer. It is only logical, that there are awards given public way.
I love watching Movies, and listening to Music etc. So, it's a cool thing to watch award shows. I hope my favorites win,

I can't say it better than Mr. X, and you!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's FED UP!!!! That is a great idea, by the way, to give some truly talented people some recognition, people who are freaking geniuses, and who save lives. They should feature, in addition to surgeons, firemen, soldiers, etc. How about the heroes of 9/11? I hope a reality tv producer reads this! That would be cool.

Right On! I am sooooo sick of awards ceremonies. And the lamest movies get nominated, not the ones that the average person actually went to the movies to see.

Well sort of, i've never noticed that but it does kind of get kind of boring. But i still enjoyed them. You have a point and not only that i think everyone should get an award 4 just being them. It doesn't always have to be celebrities to get awards.

Yeah, they all seem about the same. Most of the time when someone wins the Golden Globe for a movie, they win the Oscar as well so you already know who wins.
