work out something that you can afford. Have a portion of your income coming in go into a separate account that he can spend. The rest set aside for necessities and bills. Definately put your foot down. If he's in debt, remind him that you would be in it together.

Be very careful with this. You should have seen that big red flag when you got him out of debt the first time. This is a clear indication that he has problems budgeting money. But if you are committed to him and are trying to BUILD a future together, then someone should be going by the blueprints. So by all means, take control and put your foot down before you end up with nowhere to put it down.

Live separately. Let him be responsible for his own bills/debit and when he can't meet them you won't suffer. As if its, if you are sharing bills or a home, then if he doesn't pay, you have to or you will have no roof over your head.

Also realize anyone that irresponsible with money, often doesn't get better over time. Consider that if you are considering marriage or a long-term relationship with this person. If you are already in that kind of situation, then you've got a problem. Make sure bills that concern you are taken care of, and any that are just his (credit cards, personal loans, etc) he can deal with himself.

YES, Kristy. Get and read Dave Ramsey's book The Total Money Makeover TODAY. www.daveramsey.com

He says you & hubby gotta write a budget EVERY MONTH and both agree to it. THEN YOU MUST LIVE BY IT. Reading the book really changed the way I look at money.

Another much older book that has basic money wisdom is The Richest Man in Babylon.

Good Luck
