It doesn't get you sick, but being in the cold rain can lower your body temperature which lowers your immune system enough for virus and bacteria that are already there to take hold. Just dress warm, and dry off.

People catch colds etc from each other not from the weather. You are more likely to catch a cold on a cold rainy day not because it is cold and wet but because you are indoors sheltering from the weather with other people who are coughing and sneezing over you. In the tropics where the rain comes in the summer, colds are a summer phenomenon rather than a winter one for the same reason.

This is an old wive's tale. One does not become sick by going out in the weather. One becomes sick from a virus or bacteria. However, you should always dress for the weather just to keep your body temperature as constant as possible.

Keep warm and you'll be fine. As others have correctly said, it's viruses and bacteria that make you sick.

Getting cold and staying cold will weaken your body's immune system making your more susceptible to viruses and the like so wrap up warm.

Rain will actually clean the air so it's healthier to breath than 'unclean' air. It also helps ionize it and the more ionized the air is the better it is to breathe.

It's a myth that getting cold or wet causes sickness. If anything, getting cold might dry out the nasal passages and make it easier for a pathogen to cause an infection.

If you don't stay out side in the rain I wouldn't think that you would get sick.If you stood in the rain for a long period of time then you might get a cold or something.
